Manage your orders

The best way to check the status of your order is to use the Manage Orders feature available on the Westpac Share Trading website and Mobile App. This feature allows you to track the status of your orders and provides you the ability to easily amend or cancel orders online.

How to use the Manage Orders feature on the Westpac Share Trading website

Once logged in to our website, navigate to Trading > Share Orders > Manage Orders and select the account you wish to amend your trade on from the drop-down list. If you only have one account this will automatically appear.

Your order will fall under one of the three categories.

  1. Outstanding Orders
  2. Cancelled Orders
  3. Executed Orders
Accounts

Outstanding Orders

Orders that are currently in the market waiting to be executed.

You can view the details, amend, or cancel these types of orders from the Manage Orders screen. This may undergo a review by our Designated Trading Representative (DTR) before being approved. Once an order has executed it cannot be amended or cancelled.

Order Details

If an order status is ‘In review’, this indicates that the order has been sent to one of our DTRs. This means the order cannot be amended online, you would need to call our team for further assistance.

If you cancel an outstanding order where no units have executed, you will not be charged brokerage, however, once you amend an order, you will lose your current position in the market as it is recognised as placing a new trade.

Cancelled Orders

Orders that you have cancelled and therefore not in the market.

Orders can be cancelled for the following reasons:

  • You cancelled the order
  • The order expired
  • One of our DTRs cancelled the order due to a specific reason (e.g., your price limit is too far away from the market)
  • The share has had a basis of quotation change (e.g., ex-dividend, ex-rights, reconstructed etc.)
  • At the discretion of the ASX or Cboe.

Executed Orders

Orders that you have successfully bought or sold on the account.

Once you have selected what you would like to view, click on the display button and the system will reflect the results based on your order history data.

If you’re looking for something specific, select the arrow on the right to use our Advanced Search. This allows you to view specific order types (Buy and Sell), filters via code and date ranges.
