What is a share registry?

A share registry is an organisation which is appointed by an ASX listed company to maintain their list of shareholders and all administrative work that is required. Their responsibilities include managing the company’s register of shareholders, share ownership changes, issuing shareholding statements, managing dividend payments, corporate actions, amongst other things.

Common share registries include Link Market Services, Computershare, and Boardroom.

Where do I find share registry details?

There are several ways you can find the share registry details for listed companies.

The Westpac Share Trading Website

  1. Log in via the website and select Quotes & Research > Quotes.
  2. In the search box, enter the company name or security code.
  3. Within the same search for your desired company, click on About and scroll down until you find Share Registry Details

  1. Visit the ASX website to begin your search.
  2. In the search box, enter the company name or security code.
  3. The next screen will display all the relevant company details. Scroll down on the page until you find the share registry information.

The listed company’s website

Visit the company’s website and locate their Investor Relations section. Here you will generally find the relevant share registry details.
