From 1 August 2023, Westpac Share Trading customers with a Singaporean mobile number (+65 country code) linked to their share trading account will no longer receive SMS messages from Westpac Share Trading. This change is in accordance with the Singaporean Info-communications Media Development Authority (ICMDA) Act, which mandates that non-registered senders of SMS to Singaporean phone numbers will be classified as spam and blocked. Westpac Share Trading is not a registered sender.

What should I do if I have a Singaporean mobile number linked?

  1. Update your phone number to a non-Singaporean mobile number if you have one. That is, one that does not begin with ‘+65’. This will allow you to continue accessing all the above services online, from 1 August.

To update your mobile number, call us or go to My Account > My Profile > Personal Details.

  2. If you don’t have an alternative non-Singaporean mobile number to update, you will be unable to receive the SMS associated with the above services from 1 August 2023. You can continue to receive email communications for these services where offered. If you have forgotten your password you will be required to call us to reset your password.

We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience, and we apologise for any disruption this may cause to your trading experience.
